This page is for anyone considering the program or supporting someone who is. Below are some of the most common questions about the journey ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04692c70 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do apprentices get paid?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprentices are paid directly by the participating employer who sponsors them. These employers are part of our trusted program network and rely on apprentices as part of their workforce. This is not unpaid training\u2014apprentices are earning while learning.  The Schooling itself is also sponsored by the employer, so other than some basic tools, room &amp; board, food, and transportation there will be no costs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04692c70 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is 40 hours of work guaranteed every week?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No work in construction is ever guaranteed. However, most apprentices work full time. Employers need apprentices just as much as apprentices need work. Overtime is sometimes available depending on job demands, and when it occurs, it counts 1:1 toward your 8,000-hour requirement\u2014plus overtime pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04692c70 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do I need a high school diploma or GED?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes. The committee believes that if the military requires a high school diploma or GED, our apprentices should meet the same standard. We\u2019re training people for a career that requires responsibility, professionalism, and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04692c70 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens if I miss too many workdays or don\u2019t show up?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like any job, showing up matters. Excessive unexcused absences may result in being removed from the program. This apprenticeship is designed for individuals who are ready to commit, work hard, and represent the future of the trade with pride\u2014locally, nationally, and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04692c70 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where does training happen?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training is delivered in a hybrid format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Online instruction (2\u20134 hours per week)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-person training at employer warehouses or classrooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jobsite learning on real projects (NASA, military, commercial builds, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What certifications will I earn?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprentices will complete approximately <strong>832 hours of related technical instruction<\/strong> covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OSHA 10 and 30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fall Protection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forklift and Aerial Equipment Safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blueprint Reading and Construction Math<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Framing, Roofing, Flooring, and Finish Carpentry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Green Building Practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fire Prevention, Rigging, Project Management, and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A full certification list is available in our program standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How long is the program?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The apprenticeship takes approximately <strong>4 years<\/strong> to complete, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>8,000 hours<\/strong> of paid on-the-job training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>832 hours<\/strong> of classroom or online learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprentices who take on <strong>overtime, weekend, or extra work hours<\/strong> can accelerate their progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens after I finish?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates receive a <strong>Journeyman Credential<\/strong> and a full resume of real work experience and certifications.
