Veterans: Your Next Mission Starts Here
You served your country with purpose, discipline, and grit. Now it’s time to build your next mission—with a skilled trade that honors your work ethic, values your experience, and sets you up for a long-term civilian career.
The Florida International Carpenters Apprenticeship Training Program is proud to support veterans as they transition from military to civilian life through a structured, paid apprenticeship designed for real-world success.
What This Program Offers Veterans:
1. Paid, Full-Time Work From Day One
As an apprentice, you’ll be placed on active job sites working under real conditions. This isn’t unpaid training—it’s a job with real income that grows as you progress.
2. Structured Pathway to Civilian Success
Military veterans thrive in environments with structure, clear expectations, and progression. That’s exactly how our apprenticeship is built:
- 4 years total
- 8,000 hours of on-the-job training
- 832 hours of classroom instruction
- Weekly online and/or in-person learning (2–4 hours)
3. Direct Job Placement on Federal Projects
You’ll work on secure, high-level projects like NASA, Space Force, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps bases, and other federally funded construction jobs. Your existing security clearances and service experience are a natural fit for these environments.
4. A Veteran-Friendly Training Team
Our instructors and staff understand the veteran experience. Many are former service members themselves, and they’re committed to helping you transition with confidence—not just into a trade, but into a strong, stable community.
5. Use Your VA Benefits Where Applicable
Depending on your eligibility, you may be able to use GI Bill® benefits to supplement your apprenticeship. We can connect you to state and federal contacts who will help you activate those resources.
6. Certifications That Go With You
You’ll graduate with all required certifications to work as a Journeyman Carpenter—including OSHA 10/30, safety, scaffolding, and other trade-specific credentials. These are recognized nationwide and can follow you wherever you go.
Who This is For
- Active-duty members planning to separate
- Veterans looking for a fresh start in the trades
- Service members who want to lead, mentor, and build again—this time on U.S. soil
